Inspired by the energy and the connection between the music and the crowd, DJ Wiz set his sights on becoming a selector himself.

His breakthrough came when he landed a gig at Hilly’s Niteclub in Scarborough, where he had the chance to warm up for none other than Stone Love, one of the most iconic sound systems in the world. This opportunity marked the beginning of a career that would see DJ Wiz leave an indelible mark on the music world, both locally and internationally.

In the 1990s, DJ Wiz made history as the first Canadian selector to perform in both Japan and England—two groundbreaking milestones that helped push Canadian selectors onto the global stage. His unique blend of reggae and dancehall was quickly embraced by diverse audiences, showcasing the international appeal of Caribbean music.

DJ Wiz philosophy has always been to strengthen the home front before expanding abroad. His belief that Canadian artists and sound systems face the toughest challenges in the industry drives him to help emerging talent. Whether it’s supporting local artists through showcases or providing platforms for them to perform, DJ Wiz is committed to ensuring Canadian voices are heard globally.

As a world traveler, DJ Wiz has played in nearly every major city across Canada, parts of the USA, Japan, England, and most Caribbean islands. His travels have introduced him to fans from all walks of life—some who couldn’t speak a word of English but knew every lyric to a reggae song, a testament to the universal language of music.

One of his most cherished projects is his community involvement in Central America. Through events such as sound clashes, birthday parties, and showcases, DJ Wiz has helped raise funds to provide books and shoes to children in need. His passion for making a difference extends to every corner of his career, using his platform to create positive change.

Today, DJ Wiz is on the airwaves with BLAXIT RADIO, an online radio station that reaches listeners in Central America (including Nicaragua, Panama, and Costa Rica) and across the world. But DJ Wiz 1’s ambitions don’t stop there. He has big plans to launch a multicultural radio station that will give people from all walks of life a voice—free from media manipulation or censorship. With a focus on news, sports, music, and gospel, he hopes to create a space where people feel good listening to radio again, and where youth and communities can share their stories. In partnership with his cousin DJ Bubbles, DJ Wiz aims to establish this station as one of the most listened-to stations in the world.
