Urban FM is a Non-Profit Company that caters to the areas around Sedibeng regions and its surrounding communities. We give the best in news and information happening in and outside Sedibeng region. Our station is a voice of the community, were we broadcast what the community need and help them deal with their everyday challenges through our powerful content. As the project, our target is the whole community, but we want to address more on black youth community. What we’ve noticed is that the youth in South Africa bond with radio. The World Radio Forum (2014) manifesto stated “Any radio station that claims to be serving the interests of the community and representing the democratic values of the society has to integrate children and youth into their programming”. This manifesto clearly states that we need to allow youth to express their voices and give them the responsibility to participate in community life, the more they become leaders of tomorrow’s communities and nations.
