The original concept for the establishment of Rock Mambo Radio dates back in 1993 when the airwaves were “liberalized” from the political monopoly of government.


While most of the media entrepreneurs in radio broadcasting were interested in Kampala location,


we decided to plan for a broadcasting radio station in Tororo for the purposes stipulated in the objectives stated below. When it was eventually formed and named Rock Mambo Radio (after Tororo Rock) in January 2001.
