Carol Vorderman has become a fierce anti-Conservative campaigner, going after Johnny Mercer, the minister for veterans’ affairs, after he suggested that if military personnel past or present are using food banks the issue is “budgeting”. As a debate it did speak to the increasing prevalence of ostensibly mild-mannered celebrities using their social media to share their political views.
