Canada invited to be associate EU member, U.S. lawmakers push back on tariffs, Bishnoi gang threats, and more

European Union Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says she wants Canada to be the first “associate” member of the EU. What that means is still undefined, but it’s being envisioned as stretching beyond the existing (but still not fully ratified) Canada-EU trade agreement.
