Memorial Day marks the home-stretch of the Spring season and the school year. Straight ahead on the Tuesday Morning JM in the AM Sports Update, HAFTR and North Shore keep themselves busy, as do Frisch and SAR who will determine the first Spring 2026 champion. All that and more, good morning, I’m Elliot Weiselberg.
We’ll start off with Boys Volleyball where the finals are set, and it will result in a first-time champion, The Ramaz Rams fell to the HAFTR Hawks 3 games to 0 to bring an end to the Rams’ 3 year championship dominance. The Hawks will now face divisional opponent North Shore, the Lions sweeping West top seed TABC. Although the Hawks and Lions were both in the East, the two teams will be meeting on June 7th for the first time this year, with a chance at history, and a championship, on the line.
Speaking of Ramaz and HAFTR, the two schools will meet up Monday in the second girls hockey semifinal, the winner to move on to face Frisch, also on June 7th.
Back to North Shore and HAFTR, moving over to Soccer, the Boys varsity semifinals will take place this week, with North Shore squaring off against Frisch in a rare Friday meetup, and the Hawks playing host to the buzzing SAR Sting this coming Monday night. Girls Varsity will see Heschel and SAR meet up tomorrow night in Heschel for the right to meet up with Ma’ayanot in their championshp. However, the Sting and Cougar faithful will kick off the Spring championship festivities tonight, when SAR and Frisch meet up in Frisch for the Girls JV Soccer championship. Kick off is at 7PM.
All diamond sports start their playoff action this week and we will have first-round results for you next Tuesday
