As we return from Pesach break, the final two months of school and the Spring season are ahead of us. Today on the Tuesday Morning JM in the AM Sports Update, undefeated teams fall in several leagues, and we take you through the opening contests in softball and baseball. All that and more straight ahead. Good morning, I’m Elliot Weiselberg.

We start off in Boys JV Soccer where North Shore leads the East at 5-1, ahead of 2-1 Rambam, with the Ravens only loss a narrow 5-4 defeat at the hands of the Lions. Out West, Frisch stands at 3-1, with Kushner at 2-0-1 right behind them. Frisch’s only defeat, a 5-3 loss at the hands of the Cobras. In Girls JV, a condensed league this year, but SAR has jumped out to a 4-0 start, with Frisch at 2-0 and a meetup between the two teams on Thursday night in SAR.

Some varsity soccer scores, Ramaz walloped Central in Girls varsity to knock the Wildcats from the ranks of the undefeated, leaving Frisch as the only perfect team left, and in boys varsity, JEC defeated Hillel 10-7 to earn their first win on the year.

In Girls Hockey, a battle of the undefeated last night, as perennial contenders Kushner and Frisch squared off. Although Kushner is above them on the leaderboard, it was the Cougars who walked away victorious with a dominating 5-0 victory. The three-time defending champions will play again tomorrow night against North Shore. A win would put them on their 19th straight win, and will see them pass the two year mark without a loss, as their last defeat came on April 17, 2024. Their loss that night, the only other West undefeated team still left this year, the Ramaz Rams, whom they will face on April 29th.

With the weather getting warmer, the diamond sports have teed off. In Boys Varsity Softball, MTA and Hillel have taken the first wins on the season, all over SAR. MTA swept the Sting prior to the Pesach break and the Heat got their victory this past Sunday. In JV, Frisch has been in all 4 of the contests played so far dropping the first two games to Heichel Hatorah and sweeping the second set over MTA. In Baseball, Magen David demolished Rambam and SAR defeated Hillel in the first contests of the year. And finally, in Girls Softball, three West powerhouses have earned the first wins of the season, as Frisch, SAR and Ma’ayanot are all 1-0.

And that was your Tuesday Morning JM in the AM Sports Update, I’m Elliot Weiselberg.
