50% Of Canadian Manufacturers Considering Layoffs If Trump Tariffs Enacted

Nearly half of Canadian manufacturers may freeze hiring or lay off workers if U.S. President-elect Donald Trump imposes 25 percent tariffs on all Canadian goods.

A survey of 300 manufacturers found that 48 percent are considering these moves in response to the proposed tariffs, according to data released Dec. 19 by Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME).
Additionally, 46 percent are considering postponing or cancelling planned capital investments, while 49 percent say they may shift some production to the U.S. if the tariffs are implemented.

“Tariffs will endanger nearly $600 billion in exports to our largest trading partner, two-thirds of which are manufactured goods,” CME president and CEO Dennis Darby said in a press release.

“These findings show why we need an urgent and coordinated response from governments to protect manufacturing businesses, workers, and families.”

Evidence gathered from CCTV footage, witness statements, and suspect behavior suggests the involvement of at least one accomplice, potentially making this case far more intricate than initially believed.

British and American-trained fighters in the Revolutionary Commando Army (RCA), a group aligned against Islamic State, were told “this is your moment” in a briefing by US Special Forces before Assad was ousted.
In the first indication that Washington had prior knowledge of the offensive, the RCA revealed it had been told to scale-up its forces and “be ready” for an attack that could lead to the end of the Assad regime.

Intel Officials Warned Police That US Cities Aren’t Ready for Hostile Drones

In a previously unreported August memo, the Department of Homeland Security urged state and local police to conduct exercises to test their ability to respond to weaponized drones.

The Department of Homeland Security issued warnings to state and local law enforcement agencies this summer regarding the “growing illicit use” of commercial drones, internal documents show. Among the recommended steps was to conduct “exercises to test and prepare response capabilities.”
A DHS memo from August, which has not been previously reported, paints US cities as woefully underprepared for the “rising” threat of weaponized drones. The capabilities of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) are “progressing faster” than available countermeasures offered under “federal prevention frameworks,” the memo says, adding that it’s common for state and local authorities to observe “nefarious” and “noncompliant” flights but still lack the authority to intervene.
The memo states that violent extremists in the US are increasingly searching for ways to modify “off-the-shelf” drones to ferry dangerous payloads, including “explosives, conductive materials, and chemicals,” with major advancements in the area being propelled largely by rampant experimentation on foreign battlefields, including those in Ukraine.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued a temporary ban on drone operations in multiple areas across New Jersey until next month unless operators are given special permission, amid heightened concerns over recent sightings of the unmanned vehicles.
Over the past several weeks, drones – sometimes swarms of them – have been spotted in New Jersey by local residents and police, drawing alarm from elected officials in the state.  y this NOTAM (except as described),” 

The restrictions also stipulate that no drone systems can operate within a distance of the airspace that is specified in each notice, including from the ground level up to 400 feet in height.

Trump’s Attorneys Allege Juror Misconduct In New York Case

President-Elect Donald Trump’s attorneys have alleged evidence of “grave juror misconduct” in his falsified business records case that has been playing out in New York.
A heavily redacted letter from Dec. 3 and published by the court on Dec. 17 showed Trump’s attorneys stating that the misconduct “violated President Trump’s rights under the federal Constitution and New York law.”
The specific allegations are unclear, and recently released correspondence showed Trump’s attorneys disagreeing with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office over how much information to release.
The correspondence was published by the court after the judge, New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan, issued an order and letter rejecting multiple arguments the president-elect had made about immunity.
In a Dec. 16 letter, Merchan said that the court made additional redactions following redactions made by the different parties. He noted, however, that the allegations were unsworn and that unless a claim of juror misconduct was properly filed under New York law, “this Court cannot allow the public filing of unsworn, and admittedly contested statements.”
“To do so,” Merchan said, “would threaten the safety of the jurors. … Should a properly filed claim be submitted, these redactions will be revisited.”
He also indicated a hearing was needed to evaluate the claims but said that the defense opposed having a hearing. “Allegations of juror misconduct should be thoroughly investigated,” Merchan said. “However, this Court is prohibited from deciding such claims on the basis of mere hearsay and conjecture.”
Trump’s attorneys argued in their Dec. 3 letter that their client couldn’t pursue appropriate remedies until the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit had ruled on Trump’s request to remove the case to federal court.
In a letter to Merchan on Dec. 5, Bragg’s office requested that the Dec. 3 letter and related correspondence be kept under seal.
His office seemed to suggest that Trump’s attorneys had misrepresented the alleged misconduct.

“[T]he excerpts of the communications that counsel did share included a communication from [redacted] in which [redacted] plainly stated that counsel’s recitation of the purported juror misconduct—the same misconduct chronicled in the Dec. 3 letter—‘contains inaccuracies and does not contain additional information that I never shared,’” the letter stated.

“According to the early benchmark (EB) estimates conducted by the Phily Fed, employment was lower in 25 states, higher in two states, and lesser changes in the remaining 23 states and the District of Columbia.”
Translation: 23 states unchanged, 1 revised higher…  and 25 lower.

By state, the regional Fed bank estimates that largest revision of employment for the nine-month period ended in June will come from California, where it sees a downward revision of 172,700 jobs. Payrolls in Texas may be revised down by 112,100. An extended forecast by the BLS to the third quarter show further declines as well.

Translation: in his latest attempt to create an impression of economic growth, Biden lied about everything, again.

 The bigger question at hand is what hints the Fed drops about the path ahead and whether that will ratchet up tension between the Fed chief and President-elect Donald Trump.

After slicing a full percentage point off borrowing costs since mid-September, Powell & Co. are expected to throttle back on rate cuts. The Fed is likely to at least take a pause at its January meeting, then see where inflation and the labor market stand in March.

During his first term, his hectoring of Powell peaked when the gap between the Fed’s benchmark and its counterpart at the European Central Bank was widest.
If he follows that form, he’s likely to get cranky soon. As the Fed is expected to pause, the ECB is seen continuing to cut. That is already driving up the value of the dollar versus other currencies and may ultimately undercut Trump’s goal of boosting US exports to Europe.

House Continuing Resolution Quietly Extends the Global Engagement Center One Year With No Proposed Controls Over Domestic Censorship Support

 the Global Engagement Center’s (GEC) statutory authority would expire this month, on December 23rd,
 there is a section that would extend the Global Engagement Center’s existence.



Sec. 301 of the CR amends the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 to read “on the date that is 9 years after the date of the enactment of this Act.” Previously, it had read “8 years” but now, with the amendment, the GEC will exist in our bureaucracy for at least one more year.

The GEC, with a staff of approximately 180 employees and a rough budget of $61 million, will continue without any legislated change to their authorities if this is not amended out of the CR, despite suggestions from Senators Chris Murphy and John Cornyn to tighten control of the GEC’s spending and to forbid them from supporting organizations and entities that engage in political activities in the US, as reported by Politico.

Assad Breaks Silence From Moscow, Denies ‘Planned’ Syria Departure

Syria’s toppled leader Bashar al-Assad has made a statement for the first time since fleeing Syria after jihadist groups led by US-designated terror organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) took over the country and the army peeled away without a fight.
The statement was posted Monday to the Syrian Presidency’s Telegram account; however, it can’t be independently verified that he personally made the statement. Assad is with his family in Moscow, where they have received asylum from the Russian government.
The posted letter describes that Syria’s collapse was the result of terrorism and that his leaving was not planned. He said he was evacuated to Russia from the Khmeimim airbase on the Syrian coast. This happened the evening of December 8, and the letter further describes that the base was coming under drone attacks and the security situation deteriorating. He suggested he wanted to stay and fight.
“My departure from Syria was neither planned nor did it occur during the final hours of the battles, as

 A person was arrested after attempting to climb a temporary fence near the White House this morning, according to a U.S. Secret Service spokesperson.

Staffers at the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank raking in six-figure, tax-free salaries at both global bodies qualify for free memberships at the Bretton Woods Recreation Center in Maryland, according to documents obtained by The Post.

Stiff initiation fees at the IMF-owned course — which range from $12,000 to $20,000 — are automatically waived for all employees on the payroll of the two institutions, according to the documents, which are not in the public domain.

Now, how are those membership fees effectively subsidized? Well, the U.S. taxpayer has “financial commitments” to the World Bank and the IMF numbering into the hundreds of billions, and American tax dollars (and debt) remain the top “contributor” to both institutions. Biden’s White House is downplaying reports of unauthorized drone activity over military installations in New Jersey. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby categorically denied any confirmed incursions, dismissing over 3,000 reports of “car-sized drones” as mistaken sightings of helicopters or airplanes.

Raskin demands FBI vetting of Trump nominees, details on Epshteyn 

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.)   made a series of demands of the Trump transition team, asking for assurances President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominees will undergo FBI vetting while also requesting details about aide Boris Epshteyn’s alleged profiting from promoting those seeking new posts.
The letter from Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, comes as the Trump team floated using outside firms to do background checks on its nominees, rather than the traditional practice of having the FBI do so.
Raskin said he’s seeking “clear assurance” of using the FBI to perform background checks, noting reports that some nominees are refusing to undergo what he called a “standard practice across administrations.”

The letter asks the transition team to turn over all information on any private firms already contracted by the Trump transition.
The letter lists a suite of possible entanglements faced by various Trump nominees, including Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s meeting with now-disposed Syrian leader Bashar Assad and her parroting of Russian talking points. It also notes concerns around Sebastian Gorka, who Trump has tapped to work in the National Security Counsel but who previously had trouble getting a security clearance. And it points to multiple controversy swirling around Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to lead the Department of Defense, as factors that make him “a potential target for compromise or blackmail from foreign governments.”

This is really funny for two reasons.

First, it was under Yellen’s watch that the US experienced its biggest debt increase in history. As shown below, Yellen was Fed chair from Oct 2010 until Feb 2014, and then Fed Chair from Feb 2014 until Feb 2018, a period during which she intentionally kept rates at zero for almost the entire duration of her “apolitical” tenure.

In other words, Yellen has personally presided over a gargantuan $15.2 trillion increase in US debt, or about 42% of all US debt ever issued! No one other government official can make even a remotely similar claim.

Over 1,000 people have unsurprisingly received a get-out-of-jail-free card thanks to Joe Biden just a month before he leaves office.
The Associated Press reported on Thursday that Biden has decided to commute the sentences of about 1500 convicts who were released from prison during the COVID-19 pandemic and placed on home confinement. In addition, Biden also announced he was pardoning 39 people convicted of “non-violent” crimes.
This marks the largest single-day act of clemency in modern American history. Barack Obama previously held the record at 330 right before leaving office in 2017.



Biden argued in a statement that he is honoring America’s tradition as a country that gives out second chances, and these individuals had expressed remorse for their actions.
“America was built on the promise of possibility and second chances,” Biden said in a statement. “As president, I have the great privilege of extending mercy to people who have demonstrated remorse and rehabilitation, restoring opportunity for Americans to participate in daily life and contribute to their communities, and taking steps to remove sentencing disparities for non-violent offenders, especially those convicted of drug offenses.”
Biden also argued that the people he was pardoning had been successfully rehabilitated and claimed the 1,500 people whose sentences he was commuting would have received much lower sentences in today’s America.

So, let’s take a closer look at these three recipients in particular. 

First, we have Yanjun Xu, convicted in the Southern District of Ohio of conspiracy to commit economic espionage; conspiracy to commit trade secret theft; attempted economic espionage by theft or fraud; attempted theft of trade secrets by taking or deception, and sentenced in November 2022 to 240 months (20 years) imprisonment. (Xu had been confined since April 2018, so has served approximately six years of the sentence.) Xu’s sentence was commuted to time served, and Xu was to depart the United States and not return. 
Next, we have Ji Chaoqun, convicted in the Northern District of Illinois of conspiracy to defraud the United States; impersonating agents of foreign governments; statements or entries generally, and sentenced in January 2023 to 96 months (eight years) imprisonment. (Ji had been confined since September 2018, thus also having served six years of the sentence.) Ji’s sentence was commuted to time served and, like Xu, to depart and remain outside of the United States. 
Lastly, there is Shanlin Jin, convicted in the Eastern District of Texas of possession of child pornography, and sentenced in July 2022 to 97 months imprisonment, five years supervised release, and restitution. (Jin had been confined since January 2021.) Like the others, Jin’s sentence was commuted to time served and conditioned on his departing and remaining outside the U.S.

 President-elect Donald Trump has once again promised to “end birthright citizenship” for the U.S.-born children of illegal and nonimmigrant aliens.

But can he do this without amending the Constitution?
Yes, he can—at least according to the original meaning of the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause,
It’s certainly true that today, the mistaken majority view of the 14th Amendment’s citizenship clause is that it grants what essentially amounts to universal birthright citizenship—in other words, that virtually all children born within the geographical boundaries of the United States are citizens, irrespective of their parents’ immigration status.

It’s also true that the federal government has been abiding by a policy of treating the U.S.-born children of illegal and nonimmigrant aliens as citizens, even though it is not required and is a change from the way the 14th Amendment was applied after it was ratified in July 1868.
  nothing in the Citizenship Clause actually requires this practice. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.  Supporters of birthright citizenship ignore the second, critical condition in the amendment of being “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States.
While the citizenship clause eliminated race-based barriers to birthright citizenship, its framers and ratifiers manifestly intended that its language restrict birthright citizenship based on the strength of a person’s relationship to the United States and the lack of a relationship with another nation.
For many decades after the amendment’s ratification, that was precisely how the nation’s courts and constitutional scholars also understood the citizenship clause to work.
The government today doesn’t need to amend the Constitution to restrict citizenship for the U.S.-born children of illegal or nonimmigrant aliens. It can just simply stop abiding by a broad policy of universal birthright citizenship that the Constitution never required in the first place.

A team of researchers analyzing Pfizer’s clinical trial data has accused the pharmaceutical giant of concealing deaths during its COVID-19 vaccine trials.
Among the allegations is the failure to disclose the death of a Kansas participant who was part of the BNT162b2 vaccine trial. The death reportedly occurred 41 days after the participant received their second vaccine dose.
The accusations stem from a detailed report led by Dr. Jeyanthi Kunadhasan, an anesthetist and perioperative physician, and a member of the DailyClout research team.



The team alleges that Pfizer’s reporting practices during the critical juncture leading to the FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the vaccine were flawed, with significant delays in documenting serious adverse events, including deaths.
“The Polack paper disclosed six deaths — two in the BNT162b2 arm, and four in the Placebo arm. In the journal article and the EUA approval documentation[9], the six deaths covered the period of July 27, 2020, through November 14, 2020,” Dr. Kunadhasan wrote in a letter sent to Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, who filed a lawsuit against Pfizer.

 Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer schemed to create a years-long installation of Democrats on the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) through President-elect Donald Trump’s entire second administration. On Monday, Schumer filed cloture on the nomination of current NLRB Chairman Lauren McFerran to extend her term into 2026, and pushed for a Wednesday vote in the hopes that a thin Democrat majority, coupled with the absence of certain Republican senators on the floor, would work in his favor.

Schumer not only had his hopes dashed, but his comeuppance came at the hands of two independent members who caucus with his own party.



A Democrat-led push to secure a majority on the National Labor Relations Board until 2026 fell short on Wednesday, as Senate Republicans and two independents blocked the nomination of Lauren McFerran to continue serving on the labor board.

What Obama fears is that Biden might be persuaded to issue a sweeping set of Deep State pardons to a list that would include various top-level Obama administration officials like former CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, and former Attorney General James Comey who potentially could be forced to provide damaging criminal testimony against him.
A presidential pardon does not waive a person’s Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination for future crimes. But a person accepting a pardon (including Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and Hunter Biden, or anyone else so pardoned) can be forced to testify truthfully about the pardoned crimes since they are no longer at risk of prosecution under federal law. Once pardoned, the Fifth Amendment privilege does not apply to giving testimony against others for the pardoned crimes since the pardoned individual no longer needs Fifth Amendment protection from a self-incrimination risk that is no longer relevant.
In other words, just to be clear, please understand that by accepting a pardon, a person has admitted guilt to the pardoned crime, a precedent the Supreme Court established in 1915’s Burdick v. United States. This fact, without any other evidence, gives the DOJ and the FBI a probative cause to start a new investigation by interviewing and interrogating the pardoned person under oath. All a DOJ or FBI official would have to do is to put a piece of paper in front of the pardoned person and ask that person to enumerate all crimes committed, plus requiring the pardoned person to give the names and details of all criminal accomplices involved.

In the final weeks of President Joe Biden’s administration, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is announcing a jobs giveaway for newly arrived migrants with work permits.

  Mayorkas announced a final rule from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that will allow millions of migrants, many of whom have been released into the U.S. interior by the Biden administration, to keep their work permits for up to 540 days when they seek a renewal.
Migrants previously could renew their work permits for 180 days. For years, Democratic mayors had lobbied DHS to extend such automatic employment authorization for migrants. The rule will go into effect on Jan. 13, 2025.

Biden admin quietly renewed controversial $10B Iran sanctions waiver two days after Election Day 

The Biden administration quietly extended a sanctions waiver that will grant Iran access to roughly $10 billion from Iraq two days after President-elect Donald Trump’s Election Day victory.
The controversial waiver, which has been repeatedly extended by Secretary of State Antony Blinken despite strong opposition from congressional Republicans, allows the Iranian regime access to funds from Iraq in exchange for electricity purchases.
“On November 7th, the [State Department] did renew Iraq’s electricity waiver for the 23rd time since 2018,” State Department spokesman Vedant Patel confirmed last week.
“It was done so for an additional 120 days,” Patel noted – a time frame that will overlap with the early months of Trump’s second term in office.
Under the conditions of the waiver, Iran will receive nearly $10 billion being held in escrow accounts in Iraq that US officials claim may only be used for humanitarian trade.
However, the waiver extension allows the Iranian regime to transfer the electricity payments to accounts in Oman, which can then be converted to other currencies for the Islamic Republic to purchase non-sanctioned products.

Senate Democrats Move To Deny Trump A Labor Appointment By Installing A Union Patsy

Chuck Schumer recently announced that one of his “highest priorities” is to confirm Joe Biden’s nominees to the National Labor Relations Board before his party loses control of the Senate. He’s slated to make good on that promise on Wednesday, as a cloture vote on an NLRB renomination is scheduled to take place soon.
If Schumer secures another five-year term for NLRB Chair Lauren McFerran, Biden nominees will control the Labor Board until at least August 2026. Union elites are begging Schumer to “Trump-proof” the NLRB because they fear Trump’s appointees might focus on protecting individual workers’ rights instead of giving union officials more power. Big Labor has perpetuated the lie that politicians are only “pro-worker” if they comply with union demands.

Donald Trump erased that lie, winning reelection with unprecedented support from working-class Americans, including union members, while being relentlessly attacked by union officials. Even Teamsters union boss Sean O’Brien, who admitted that nearly 2 out of 3 Teamsters workers support Trump, refused to endorse him.
O’Brien has tried to spin himself as a Trump ally nonetheless, but all that betrays the truth. Like the other union bosses, the Teamsters hierarchy refused to support the former president because he didn’t promise them more power.

A majority believe President-elect Donald Trump has a clear mandate to enact his agenda, according to a survey from Rasmussen Reports.

Overall, 55 percent of likely voters said “yes,” the election is a mandate for Trump to enact his policies, but 32 percent said it is not. Another 13 percent are unsure.
A majority of Republicans, 81 percent, and half of independents, 50 percent, believe the election was a mandate for Trump, but a plurality of Democrats, 48 percent, believe it is not.
When asked if Congress should “mainly cooperate with Trump in enacting his agenda,” most likely voters, 53 percent, said it should. Just 36 percent said Congress should oppose his agenda.

YouTube Confirms Cryptic Videos Posted Online Are Not Connected to Luigi Mangione

Now, YouTube confirmed in an email to Newsweek that it had suspended the account linked to Luigi Mangione, citing violations of the platform’s impersonation policy.
The news outlet reported:

YouTube suspended the account later Monday for “violating our policies covering impersonation, which prohibit content intended to impersonate another person on YouTube,” a company spokesperson told Newsweek in an email.

“The channel’s metadata was updated following widespread reporting of Luigi Mangione’s arrest, including updates made to the channel name and handle,” the spokesperson said. The company said it also terminated three other channels “owned by the suspect, per our Creator Responsibility Guidelines. These channels had not posted content in over 7 months.”

“If you see this, I’m already under arrest,” said a caption in the silent, 84-second clip posted by the account, @PepMangione. The handle matched other social media accounts that belonged to Luigi Mangione, the man who was arrested on Monday. He was arraigned on forgery and weapons charges in Pennsylvania. Mangione has not been charged with Thompson’s murder.

President-elect Donald Trump sent a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin following the collapse of the Assad regime in Syria after Islamist opposition fighters captured Damascus. He called for an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine.
