In this episode, my mom (Joye) talks about a difficult topic, discussing her sexual assault while she and my dad were in full-time ministry.
I'm so thankful for her desire to share such a vulnerable part of her story. Her desire in this testimony is to help others to know that they are not alone, that we don't always understand why God allows such difficult things to happen, but there is a greater strength and deeper faith available to us on the other side of healing and breakthrough. She talks about being delivered of fear and how God never promises us a life free from difficulty but always promises to be with us, to give us grace, and to redeem every situation. The question we tend to ask is "why" but what she felt God prompt her to ask is "How can God get the most glory out of this?"
The testimony of her strength through weakness is so encouraging and tender to me. I'm so challenged by some of the comments she makes; I don't want to ruin it for you so take the time to hear for yourself!
