Zdravo svima, ja sam Nevena.
Hello everyone, I’m Nevena.
Jelena (00:02)
Ja sam Jelena.
I’m Jelena.
Nevena (00:03)
I dobrodošli u novu epizodu Unlock Your Serbian sa Jelenom i Nevenom.
And welcome to a new episode of Unlock Your Serbian with Jelena and Nevena.
Jelena (00:07)
That’s right, welcome to another episode of our podcast, and today, as always, we are talking about a very interesting topic, and that is the Serbian mentality.
Nevena (00:21)
When we say these two words, “Serbian mentality”, what is the first thing that comes to your mind, Jelena?
Jelena (00:29)
Nevena, what comes to my mind is one very specific scene, and that is a kafana, live music, some tambura players, and people sitting at a table drinking wine, eating something and all singing together and being very relaxed. It’s a whole scene like from a movie that comes to my mind when someone says “Serbian mentality”.
Nevena (00:58)
And would you say that part of the mentality is that we constantly have to go out with friends, that we constantly have to drink alcohol, that we like to eat good food – is that part of the mentality?
Jelena (01:13)
To je definitivno veliki, veliki deo srpskog mentaliteta.
That is definitely a big, big part of the Serbian mentality.
