Hey hey everybody! Welcome back to another episode of "TRU CHAT"...A Community Podcast, a MejIMusyK Production. I am your host JoY of JoYful SoundZ, and this my friends is episode 4 of season 8! We have a new guest out of Englewood, Chicago sharing her story and how she created her brand "The Sandwich Queen." This episode hits hard on our community as we speak on the physical, mental, and spiritual abuse many of the women in our community have and are still experiencing. Yes is may initially feel like a story about victimization, though if you listen you will see how this is a story of a journey to FREEDOM!!
The older generations taught us that there was no progress without struggle...well it is time to change that uncessary narrative, which it appears a lot of the youth these days (through use of the internet) have discovered it does not have to be that way...while still trying to figure it all out. I'm here to confirm that it does not! You can choose to struggle, which in some cases is placed there for you to believe that you need to, to prove yourself, to be accepted, and/or to live better lives than those before you. Remember, FREEDOM is a God given gift...more like a passage of rights to just be. If you don not believe...then so it is!
Thank you to all my listeners that actually make themselves known by hitting that subcribe button to catch the new episodes as they are posted. And to all the listeners that preferred to Not be supportive and act as though they are not listening and take make words, phrases, and ideas and pass them off as if they are yours... I see you and feel you! Keep spreading the word, just remember, Karma is also watching and waiting on the right time to remind you of your actions :)!
So...stay tuned for the next episode to here more words straight from the hearts of the youth of Englewood Chicago. Until nest time, I am your host JoY signing off and out...Peeeaaaccce!!!
