On this week's episode, I was joined by Missouri Valley College's Women's Soccer team Assistant Coach Ana Bejarano. We discussed Ana's player experience as a former Sevilla FC professional player. We also learned more about her college coaching career in the U.S. We talked about Ana's journey as an international student in America's Midwest as well as her origins back in Spain.
Ana Bejarano is originally from Aracena, Spain. She was a soccer player for over 15 years. She was able to reach 2nd Division with Sevilla FC in the Spanish Women's Liga. Her playing career brought her to the United States to study abroad and continue to play the beautiful game at Missouri Valley College where she played soccer for an additional 3 years before retiring. After her retirement as a player, she decided to coach at her alma mater. Later on she went as far as to get her Master's degree from Lindenwood University.
It was so pleasant to learn about Ana's life story. She's not only a passionate student of the game, but also a UEFA C licensed coach. Ana's dream is to coach professional soccer in La Liga becoming the first ever woman to coach men's soccer back in her home country. I'm grateful Ana became my first female soccer professional guest. Hope you enjoy this interview as much as I did. #TheAlexWay
