A young sailor on 48-hour leave should be enjoying the bright lights of the city—but instead he finds himself standing over a dead body with a pocket full of unanswered questions. His unlikely ally is June, a wisecracking dancehall girl whose quick wit and street smarts may be his only hope of clearing his name before time runs out.
Based on the novel by celebrated crime writer Cornell Woolrich, Deadline at Dawn is a perfect example of noir at its finest: ordinary people caught in extraordinary circumstances, racing against both the clock and the police. With memorable performances, sharp dialogue, and glamour that only Lux Radio Theatre could deliver, Deadline at Dawn is radio noir at its best.
