Critique Of Foreign War Strategy
Richard Epstein critiques administration military strategy regarding Iran, arguing that relying exclusively on air power and precision bombing cannot achieve victory without ground force commitments. He stresses that protracted conflicts alienate allies and exacerbate domestic political divisions in Congress. Delays allow adversaries time to rearm, while global energy supplies and shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz face severe disruption. Turning to domestic law, Epstein analyzes the botched execution attempt of Christa Pike in Tennessee, concluding that persistent procedural failures and dwindling public support make capital punishment unworkable.
