Is God’s Law a Burden? The Ark of the Covenant, & How Good It is to Have Jesus as Your King (John 2:19-20)
"The Gospel for Living," with John Musgrave, M.Div.
In this sermon from John 2:19-20, we see that God’s law is not a burden but a gift given by our good and gracious King, Jesus Christ. When Jesus cleanses the temple and declares, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days,” He reveals Himself as both the true Temple and the rightful King of God’s kingdom. This message shows how it’s good to have Jesus as one’s king, as He not only protects His people, but also gives His people His commands to guide their lives into joy, fruitfulness, and peace. From our present obedience under Christ’s kingship to the future hope of the New Heavens and New Earth, this sermon encourages believers to trust that Jesus’ laws are for our good, now and forever, as He reigns as King of kings over His redeemed people.
