124: Build Your Legacy with Tenacity Aysleth Zeledon
16 August 2022
124: Build Your Legacy with Tenacity Aysleth Zeledon

"If you feel Like you're unhappy and you're not where you want to be in life, and you feel like it's because of one particular person- first of all, look in the mirror because it might be you." -Aysleth Zeledon

We don't need a lot of money, a big house, or even much in the way of possessions to have a legacy. If we can find something we love and make it our life's work, then that's all anyone needs to know about our legacy. It's not what we possess— it's how much we enjoyed having them.

The best part about building our own legacy is that we know exactly what it is— it's us! We get to choose our own course through life and make things happen on our terms.

But building our own legacy is not something we can do without effort. We have to keep pushing, keep going, and keep building upon what we've already accomplished. It's a lot of work and it takes a great amount of tenacity, but it's sure worth it!

In this episode, Spiritual Life Coach and author, Aysleth Zeledon shares how she was able to build her legacy, even if it took her many years to realize them. Daniel and Aysleth also guide us through five steps that can help us build a name for ourselves: 1. knowing our worth, 2. setting time for self-care, 3. evaluating our closest circle, 4. finding the right mentor, and 5. building faith in the One who makes all things possible.

123: Claim Your YES— Redesign Your Opportunities with Lisa Charles
09 August 2022
123: Claim Your YES— Redesign Your Opportunities with Lisa Charles

“It's not just being able to say ‘yes’. It's: can you say ‘yes’ in moments of consequence?” -Lisa Charles

It's easy to get so busy that we miss out on opportunities to meet new people, explore new places, and make new memories. And it's not just because we're too focused on our work—it's because saying ‘no’ is so easy. If we're not open to new experiences, growth and learning will never come our way. And even if they do, it will be on someone else's terms—not ours!

Therefore, saying ‘yes’ is critical to our growth, happiness, and success. It can actually give us more freedom and flexibility than saying ‘no’ ever could. When we say ‘yes’ we are allowing ourselves room to grow and adapt. Not only that! We are also giving ourselves a chance to learn more about ourselves and what makes us happy, maybe even meet someone who inspires us in some way.

Yes Coach, Lisa Charles joins Daniel this week to give us a broader perspective on the power of a simple ‘YES’. Daniel and Lisa discuss how we can find our inner ‘YES’, claim it, and pursue it. They also talk about how our ‘yes’ can help us become fit inside out, how it leads us to a different way of living, and how it can help us have a positive approach to life despite adversities. In this episode, we also learn how to challenge our limitations, how taking a step back can push us forward, and how to respond to the question of self-awareness and recommitment. Tune in!

122: YOU are the Key to Your Success with Cynthia Caughie

122: YOU are the Key to Your Success with Cynthia Caughie

“I choose to live out of my imagination and not my memory. So many times, we live in the past. It's not where I am. I'm going to the future. So I'm going to live out of my imagination.” -Cynthia Caughie

Do you feel like you're just not getting any better? — It's a common feeling, and one that can make us feel like we're stuck. We don't know what to do, and we don't know how to change.

The problem is that we often don't know what "better" even means. If we were able to define it, then maybe we could make some progress on it—but until then, we'll just keep spinning our wheels and trying new things and hoping they work out.

And if that's the case, then where do we start? The secret? It starts with YOU! The key to success is within us and our willingness to do the hard work.

YOU Can Do Hard Things author, Cynthia Caughie puts the emphasis on the word YOU. In this episode, Daniel and Cynthia discuss how we can build confidence and courage with grit, how we can let go of our past and live for the future, what can help awaken our entrepreneurial spirit, and why we should aim for new experiences.

But in order to take our first step, we should have a clear picture of what we really want to achieve. This begs the question, “Who am I? What am I?” Tune in as Daniel and Cynthia helps us answer these life-changing questions.

120: How Great Leaders Get Something Done with Dave Sanderson

120: How Great Leaders Get Something Done with Dave Sanderson

“What you’re doing is your legacy right now. That’s why you got to be congruent and authentic. If you’re not, people will see it and they don’t want to be associated with it.”  -Dave Sanderson

Leaders rise to the top because of their talent, hard work, and ambition. When chaos strikes, great leaders rise to the challenge and turn the chaos into a catalyst for success—sometimes at their own personal risk. They find their direction, even when it seems like they have lost their way.

But whatever the circumstances, these leaders have one thing in common: they have overcome great adversity to emerge as thriving leaders. Dave Sanderson, co-author of Brace for Impact: Miracle on the Hudson, discovered what it means to be a leader in times of turmoil when their plane crashed into the Hudson River in January of 2009. Given a new life, Dave is set on not letting a good lesson die with him, especially if it is a message of hope that the world so needs today.

Tune in as Dave relives the events of that frightful near-death experience and what motivated him to rise up as an emergent leader and what helped him keep his calm and wits amidst the tumult. Daniel and Dave also talked about the dangers of being judgmental, what happens when we stop judging others based on preconceived ideas, and how we can move forward with hope and determination.

119: How to Cultivate an Elite Mindset with Curtis Mitchell, “Mr. 200”
12 July 2022
119: How to Cultivate an Elite Mindset with Curtis Mitchell, “Mr. 200”

“Keeping that elite level mindset keeps me elite as a person.” -Curtis Mitchell

We're all in this world to be the best version of ourselves. But it’s a long and bewildering journey. It’s hard to know where to start, let alone how to succeed.

But, we can learn a very valuable lesson from athletes. Elite athletes all have one thing in common: an elite mindset. The way elite athletes thinks about themselves and their goal helps them achieve greatness at whatever they do. They're the ones who seem to have it all—the drive, the mental toughness, and the will to win that is so strong it's almost inhuman.

We don't need to be an athlete to develop this mindset. We just need to develop our own unique set of beliefs to help us improve ourselves and reach our goals as well!

In this episode, Daniel sits with the 2014 USA National Champion, “Mr. 200”, Curtis Mitchell. Unlike other athletes, Curtis didn’t have a scholarship so had to practice harder than the others to prove himself. And finally all the hard work and discipline he put in paid off as he bagged medals after medals in his running career.

Listen in as Daniel and Curtis discuss what having an elite mindset means and how to develop it. They also talk about how champions are made: loving the process, putting together the right team, training your mental powers, overcoming challenges, and how to stay grounded in your chosen path.

118: Move From Fear to Faith to Freedom with Ilona Parunakova

“Opinions are like armpits— Everybody's got them but most of them stink.” -Ilona Parunakova

All of us have been rejected at some point in our lives—maybe even more than once! But when we look at it from a distance of time, we can all agree that a rejection isn't the end. It's just another step in our journey.

Rejection is just the universe telling us that what we're doing is worth doing and that there's something worth pursuing in life that no one else has gotten around to yet.

In this episode, we are joined by Ilona Parunakova, an International TEDx speaker, a 10x Best-Selling Author, and the CEO of IP Resilience Global. Because of her background, Ilona has faced a lot of rejections in her life- from school, from work, and even from family members! She grew up believing that she was ugly, incapable, and undeserving. But one thing changed her life forever!

Listen in as Ilona shares why trying never hurts and why others' opinions of us can be likened to an armpit. (Yes, you read that right.) Daniel and Ilona also discuss how just one kind word and one person can change our life, how to handle gossip with grace, how to overcome the trap of perfectionism, and the secret message behind the word “No.”

This episode is for those who are P.H.D. only— the Poor, Hungry, and Determined to chase after their dreams and change their narrative. If you are by any means one of them, this episode is for you!

117: Build Your Own Hero with Mallisa J. Vogel

“Everybody that's on this journey is just as challenged as we are. And it can be one of the most empowering beautiful experiences when we share our pain and what we've been through if we intentionally create greatness with it.” -Mallisa J. Vogel

Failure is not an identity. It is a chapter that we can flip into an unexpected plot twist. It is a natural part of life but it doesn’t define who we are as people or our potential as leaders.

The first time we fail at something, it may feel like a big deal. But if there is one thing that life has taught us, it is that failure can actually lead to great things.

Mallisa J. Vogel aka “MJ Vogel Inspire” learned to turn her darkest moments into her strength. Life was hard for Mallisa growing up in an economically challenged household with so much violence, lacking education, and being diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a congenital condition tha affects brain structure and spinal cord. But through it all, she found her power and became a strong business leader, author, podcaster, and woman.

In this episode, Daniel and Mallisa talk about how to build the hero within us, how to remove the limitations imposed on us, why we should appreciate the boring and mundane stuff that goes into success building, how to set up habits and systems, how we should view money, what differentiates failure from success, and what it means to choose our 158.  Tune in as Daniel and Mallisa double the inspiration in this week’s podcast!

116: Quit the Idea of Quitting with Abbas Mohammed

116: Quit the Idea of Quitting with Abbas Mohammed

“It's not all about saving money. It's about hiring the best of the best people even if you pay a premium, because they will bring in way more money to the business than you're paying them anyway.” -Abbas Mohammed

Quitting is a gross disservice to ourselves. When we say we can’t do something, we are actually saying, “I’m not good enough to try.” We are giving up on seeing what else was out there for us— we are giving up on ourselves, on our dreams, and on our potential.

Therefore, it’s clear that giving up when the going gets tough is not the way to go. We should give ourselves more grace and credit because success only belongs to the ones who think bigger than themselves and are willing to put in the effort during those tough times.

In this episode, Daniel sits with Abbas Mohammed, one of the top 1% real estate brokers in the US and owner of The Abbas Group. But things did not always go well for Abbas. His family lacked material needs and they had to flee their home when the war broke in Iraq. Being a refugee did not bring comfort either as they strived to make ends meet day-by-day in a foreign country.

Listen in as Abbas shares why he rejected the idea of quitting despite the challenges he faced, how frustration has pushed him to do even better, how boredom moved him to achieve higher, and the importance of constantly challenging ourselves. Daniel and Abbas also talked about two things that every successful business has, why hiring is a vital process in success building, the misconceptions around having multiple income streams, and the benefits of getting rid of false beliefs.

115: Where Happiness Starts with Dwight Heck
14 June 2022
115: Where Happiness Starts with Dwight Heck

“Everybody on this planet is worthy of happiness. But you need to go out and do what it takes to be happy. And it starts with being kind to yourself and then being kind to others always.” -Dwight Heck

Money can buy us the things that will make our lives easier: clothes, food, shelter, and all sorts of other stuff that will help us do what we want to do with our time.

But money can also buy us things that will make our life harder: stress about how much money we have or don't have, worry about how we will pay off debt or save for retirement… the list goes on and on!

The more money we make, the more freedom and power we hold over our own life. We can make decisions based on what matters most to us, not based on other people's expectations or needs. But we should be cautious not to depend on money for our happiness. Rather, we should learn to put money in its proper place and view it as it is— an instrument that facilitates our lives.

This week, Give a Heck Financials Founder, Dwight Heck joins Daniel for a timely conversation on financial health and happiness. Dwight raised his 5 children as a single dad with a job that made it even harder to survive the day-to-day. He felt helpless drowning in sleepless nights and desperation.

Listen in as Dwight relates how he was able to rise from the dark he was in and get better at managing his finances. Daniel and Dwight also talk about how to plan a budget, how associations reflect our financial status, how we can have abundance despite global inflation, how our self-image affects our income, and how we can keep our joy and core values intact without being trapped in our pursuit of money.
