Is AI a tool for the Antichrist? The problem with Peter Thiel’s take on the end times

Peter Thiel is drawing attention for hosting a Rome conference warning that technologies like AI could help usher in the Antichrist, even as critics accuse him of fueling fear around the end times. While concerns about global instability, war, and innovation are real, Scripture reminds us that “many antichrists have come” and that speculation about who the Antichrist might be is largely fruitless. Jesus instead pointed to “wars and rumors of wars” not to make us afraid, but so that we would not be. In the end, whether the world stabilizes or Christ returns, we are called to live with confidence that God is in control and to keep our focus on helping others know him.
