131: Reclaiming Motherhood After Postpartum Trauma - Pt. 1 (with Lycie Ross) [Nuchal Hand, Postpartum Complications, Postpartum Depression]

When you grow up with a midwife as your mother, and you and your siblings were all born at home, planning a home birth for your first doesn’t seem strange at all. And it wasn’t for Lycie and her husband. While it was long, all was going well until the midwife realized how badly she had torn, and felt better about sending her to the hospital for her repair. That’s where the trauma started, the moment they called 911. From the EMT staff to the nursing staff to the OB staff, she was met with unpleasant encounter after unpleasant encounter, and was definitely being treated unfairly because of her decision to home birth. Find out how Lycie was eventually able to even want to birth again, and yes, at home again, but this time without the postpartum hospital transfer!
