About this episode

Food scientists and technologists are responsible for the safe development and manufacturing of our food products and their processes. They have continuously helped improve the food that we consume today while ensuring safe consumption and preservation, making these food items more available!


We invited Anna Tongco, a Food Scientist and a product developer with a background in food technology, to talk about the Food S&T environment in the Philippines. Anna is currently completing her master's degree in food safety from Michigan State University. Apart from being absolutely enamored by food and material science in general, she also enjoys writing, musical theater, and Filipino Martial Arts.
