In this week’s episode of Souvni on the Mike, we dive into the four powerhouse archetypes that shape Haitian womanhood: the Poto Mitan, the Madan Sara, the Fanm Dyaspora, and the Fanm Tulututu. Through humor, storytelling, and cultural reflection, Souvni and Valentin explore how each of these women carries a different kind of strength, economic, emotional, global, and creative, and how together they form the four pillars of Haitian identity.
From Madan Sara’s fearless hustle, to Poto Mitan’s quiet, unshakeable leadership, to Dyaspora women bridging worlds, to Tulututu women redefining island beauty and modernizing Haiti’s visual identity, this episode celebrates the brilliance and complexity of Haitian women everywhere.
And then comes the highlight: La Famille Pòt returns with a brand‑new skit, “Ki Kalite Fanm Nou Ye?” Dyak wakes up convinced he must classify the three women he lives with, Freya, Tika, and Ovila, into one of the four Haitian woman archetypes. What follows is pure comedy: Tika proudly claims her Tulututu crown, Freya embraces her Dyaspora identity, and Ovila shuts down Dyak’s assumptions with classic Poto Mitan authority. In a legendary twist, Dyak discovers he is the true Madan Sara of the house, but without the heels, without the wig, and with all the peng‑attitude of someone who never wants to pay full price.
This episode closes the September comedy series with warmth, laughter, and cultural insight, and opens the door to next week’s brand‑new series: Haitian Psychology 101, where we decode how Haitians think, love, fight, hope, and survive.
