She shares hardships women faced on remote farms, hard work of the Sikh families and why many Punjabi women like her and her mum were recorded as 'Singh' instead of 'Kaur' in official records. - ਜਗਿੰਦਰੋ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਕਈ ਪੀੜੀਆਂ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਨਾਤਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਨਾ ਜੀ ਮੰਗਲ ਸਿੰਘ 1878 ਵਿੱਚ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਫਾਰ ਨਾਰਥ ਕੁਈਨਜ਼ਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਗੋਰਡਨਵੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਟੇਬਲਲੈਂਡਜ਼ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਦਰੱਖਤ ਕੱਟਣ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਤੀ ਯੋਗ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ। ਇਸ ਐਪੀਸੋਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਗਿੰਦਰੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਵਾਸ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਤੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਆਉਣ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ 1957 ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਿਜ਼ ਦੋ ਸਾਲ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਤੋਂ ਆਸਟ੍ਰੇਲੀਆ ਆਏ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੁਈਨਜ਼ਲੈਂਡ ਦੇ ਦੂਰ-ਦੁਰਾਡੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਬਹਿਣੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਕਿਉਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਈਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਰਿਕਾਰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ 'ਕੌਰ' ਦੀ ਥਾਂ 'ਸਿੰਘ' ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
