We are now in Season 3 , and it's such an honor to share Trisha's story into the world of Fitness & its connection to one's wellbeing
This season we address Women & Weight - and the journey to better health in better ways that aren't forceful or masculine in nature
Trisha is a the owner of Founder & Owner of Chalk Training Ground and The Daily Grind Cafe.
As per Trisha's experience she highlights how the challenges are diverse and constant - "Women can have a way of holding themselves almost hostage to self sabotaging sub conscious thoughts/beliefs of being less than perfect. This is can be created through youth, culture and of course media.
The ideas of perfection are scarily skewed and we are presented with an intensely warped narrative of what it is to be self accepting.
The weight journey is only ever a problem when the sense of “self” is not properly respected. Constant “Fad Diets” and comparisons to what society has deemed beautiful is very sadly a ritual of self harm.
I feel that fitness lends a strong hand in moving out of a potentially lonely cycle and into a place of positivity and progression (not based on body size). Once we eat and play (workout) from a place of joy and real wellness, the journey falls into place.
The scales become secondary - the acceptance and confidence in what is seen in the mirror becomes positive. Theres a lot more to dig into within the above but to summarise “your why” needs to be from a place of love and not negativity/sabotage.
