But instead, you keep looking ahead—wondering about the future, questioning how your life will unfold, how your material situation will be, or how much fame you’ll gain. In doing so, you forget who you truly are. You declared this external, worldly life to be the truth, losing sight of your own inner reality.
You have taken countless forms, countless bodies. Reflect for a moment at the center of your brow on the true purpose of taking a body—and you will realize who you truly are. In truth, you are not this perishable body, nor are you something that changes. You are the unchanging essence, the Supreme Being, the Ultimate Reality. True wisdom is to realize this Reality. This inquiry will lead you to self-realization. It will reveal to you the great purpose of your birth.
You abandoned the work that came to you and stood still, caught in the web of relationships and attachments, thinking in terms of ‘my people’ and ‘my bonds.’ But these are not your true bonds. Your real connection is the soul’s connection—your true relationships are of the Self. When you realize that your identity goes beyond the body and is rooted in the soul, then all beings in the universe become your own. For one who limits love and belonging only to a select few, the whole universe remains unknown. But when you recognize the soul as your true bond, the entire cosmos becomes your family.
This entire universe is one single essence. Therefore, true joy lies in realizing this universal oneness and living in harmony with all beings.
