About this episode

In this month’s podcast, the founder of REALTOR® Week, Harry De Leeuw talks about the origins of REALTOR® Week, its purpose, and his challenge to fellow REALTORS® to get involved in their professional association and communities.

Harry is a consummate volunteer and community leader, and his accomplishments are immeasurable. As a past president of MREA, Harry founded the First Nations affordable homeownership program, Manitoba Tipi Mitawa (MTM), a partnership between The Manitoba Real Estate Association (MREA), the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, and the Manitoba Government.

Over the past five decades, Harry has built a successful real estate career, having co-founded and managed the largest independent real estate company in Winnipeg, DELBRO Real Estate.

In 2014, DeLeeuw won the Winnipeg REALTORS® Community Service Award. He has also founded the Citizens Hall of Fame at Assiniboine Park, which recognizes outstanding Manitobans for their contributions to our province.  Last year, Harry DeLeeuw was selected as one of 150 recipients of Manitoba 150’s Honour 150 Program recognizing his commitment to enriching Manitoba’s communities.
