About

Displacement, food insecurity and limited humanitarian access continue to worsen conditions for thousands of people affected by recent fighting in Akobo County, Jonglei State. Aid agencies are now racing to scale up emergency assistance before the rainy season further cuts off access to vulnerable communities.

In this exclusive interview, Radio Miraya’s Sebit William speaks with the acting UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South Sudan, Dr Humphrey Karamagi, and the Head of United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in South Sudan, David Carden, about the response efforts, humanitarian challenges and the urgent need for security and access in the area.
