Life Matters – Cursillo: A Short Course in Christianity – Dr Aoife Collins with Aaron and Stephen Gallagher

Aoife Collins welcomes brothers Aaron and Stephen Gallagher from Derry, both active in the Cursillo movement, to talk about how they came to be pro-life and what a three-day retreat born in the barracks of the Spanish Civil War has to do with it. Stephen explains how the movement took root in Manchester only a few years ago after he arrived there in the middle of the worst period of his adult life, and Aaron describes what Cursillo has meant in Derry, including for men who once said republicanism was their god. They also tell the story of a priest who refused one of them Communion, and what came of it.
