About

Description of Srimad Bhagavad Gita Dhyana Shlokas: Part 2 of 3: In this episode, shlokas praising Sage Vyasa and Lord Krishna are described. Vedavyas, who compiled the Vedas and gave the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita to the world, is also known as Krishna Dwaipayana, Badarayana. His birthday is celebrated as Guru Purnima. Lord Krishna is described with three special qualities: 'Prapanna Parijataya', 'Totravetraikapanaye' and 'Jnanamudraya'. The Jnanmudra symbolizes the unity of the jivatma and the paramatma through the union of the index finger and thumb. It is explained that Sri Krishna subdued the wicked and established dharma. He also gave knowledge through the Gita and earned the title of Jagadguru.
