Jukebox: Apiophobia (Breaking Benjamin and Meyers Lighthouse Brewing Co. & Mini Golf)
Pops on Hops
Barry, Abigail, and special guest Derek Hummel, Sr., discuss Derek’s Jukebox submission, Phobia by Breaking Benjamin, and sample Shipwreck, Orange Blossom, Beach Gnome, and Beacon from Meyers Lighthouse Brewing Co. & Mini Golf in Ocean View, New Jersey.
With this appearance, Derek joins our three-timers club! Listen to his other two episodes: Make Your Flight (Incubus and Hell 'n Blazes Brewing Co.) and He's the Drinker, We're the Talkers (DJ Jazzy Jeff & Evil Genius).
The drummer of Breaking Benjamin for their first two albums was Jeremy Hummel! Welcome to the family, Jeremy!
Barry compared the sound of this album to On My Own Two Feet by Granian. You can listen to our review of that album: Not Just Our Two Hosts (Granian and Hops & Grain Brewing).
The helicopter sounds at the beginning of Unknown Soldier reminded Abigail of both Goodnight Saigon by Billy Joel and Miss Saigon, a musical about the Vietnam War.
Our next Jukebox episode will be Navy Blues by Sloan, submitted by Paul Zawacki. This episode is scheduled to drop on August 22, 2025.
