Notre Dame men’s basketball dominated the 20th ranked Michigan State Spartans last night at Purcell Pavilion. the Irish held up their end of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in a 70-to-52 drubbing of the Spartans. Cormac Ryan led the way with 23 points, as the Irish used only six players the entire game. Notre Dame now faces a short turnaround, as the Irish host Syracuse Saturday at noon here on Sports Radio 960 WSBT.
The 7th ranked Irish women play their ACC/Big Ten challenge game tonight at home against 20th ranked Maryland. That’s an early 6:30 start, with Sean Stires calling the game on Live 99.9.
Other ACC/Big Ten challenge games last night: 5th ranked Purdue posted a ten point win at Florida State, 79-69, and 10th ranked Indiana handled 18th ranked North Carolina, 77-65.
A good Thursday night NFL game tonight, with the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots getting together in Foxboro. The Bills are looking to keep a grip on the top spot in the AFC East. We begin coverage from Westwood One at 7:30 for an 8:20 kickoff on Sports Radio 960 WSBT.
In the NBA: the Bulls and Pacers both lost out west last night. Chicago took a 132-113 loss to the Suns in Phoenix, and the Pacers fell 137-114 to the Kings in Sacramento. The Pistons host the Dallas Mavericks tonight in Detroit.
Hockey: the Chicago Blackhawks fell at home to Edmonton, 5-4. The Detroit Redwings lost in a home shootout to Buffalo, 5-to-4.
