As Indonesian citizens who are guided by the values of Pancasila, the imposition of the death penalty must be addressed democratically and wisely. Based on Indonesian law, the death penalty is only applied to the certain crimes, such as narcotics, terrorism, and corruption.The existence of two views regarding death penalty from the perspective of the deterrent effect caused by the imposition of the death penalty for the death row inmates or from the perspective of human rights itself, creates contradictions and endless debate for both.
