Bus Driver Reveals What Happened In Viral Face Spitting Video

A vile video of a woman spitting in the face of a Dublin Bus driver sparks a huge row on Opinions Matter — and opens up a bigger question: is public transport in Dublin (and beyond) just not safe anymore?

Adrian and Jeremy ask if buses, the Luas and the DART have become “the peasant carrier”… or if that’s pure snobbery. Callers don’t hold back: “dregs of society”, “cesspit”, and stories that’ll turn your stomach.

Former driver James lists years of abuse — bottles, rocks, fireworks, even a screwdriver attack — and says drivers are told to stay in the cab and often finish the shift anyway.
