DNC, in medical terminology, stands for Dilatation and Curettage. It is a common surgical procedure performed on women to diagnose and treat certain gynecological conditions.
During a DNC, the cervix is dilated (widened) to allow access to the uterus. A curette, which is a thin, spoon-shaped instrument, is then used to gently scrape and remove the lining of the uterus.
