US Forces Board Venezuela-Linked Sanctioned Oil Tanker in North Atlantic; House Panel Examines Minnesota Fraud Allegations

The U.S. European Command announced the seizure of a Venezuela-linked oil tanker for violations of U.S. sanctions in a post on X on Wednesday. U.S. forces had been trailing the vessel since last month after it tried to evade a U.S. blockade around Venezuela. The ship was sanctioned by the United States in 2024 for allegedly smuggling cargo for a company linked to terrorist group Hezbollah.

The House Oversight Committee will hear testimony on Wednesday from Minnesota state lawmakers on allegations of fraud and the misuse of federal funds in the state. NTD will have live coverage of the hearing.
