Ontario's Forest History-The 2026 Podcast Tour

North Country History with Rob Burg

About

In this episode, the final episode of Season 3 of the podcast, I introduce the Forest History of Ontario, focusing on three main topics of this rich history: the Great Lakes Fur Trade, the lumber industry, and recreation in the forests, namely in the "Cottage Country." All three of these topics will be covered more thoroughly in episodes in Season 4 that will occur in the Winter and Spring of 2027. I also briefly recap the 2026 Podcast Tour through Ontario in September.

Please note: Due to hacking of my Facebook page, there is now a new Facebook page for the podcast. It is North Country History with Rob Burg, yes the same name as the podcast. Follow this new page instead of the old "Rob Burg-Environmental Historian." You can still check that one out, but I can no longer maintain it.
