Should we introduce a language proficiency requirement for Irish citizenship?

Tánaiste Simon Harris has said there is “merit in considering” a language proficiency requirement for Irish citizenship.   Ireland remains one of the few European countries that does not require a formal language proficiency test for naturalisation
