Guest Host Debra Barsha "Flips The Script" on Terry Wollman: Interviewing the Host of "Making It"

Originally from Miami, Terry Wollman moved to Los Angeles after graduating from the prestigious Berklee College of Music with a degree in Arranging. He quickly built a solid reputation as an in-demand music director/guitarist/producer/composer. Terry has performed with an array of artists including Billy Preston, Little Richard, Wilson Phillips, Al Jarreau, Joan Baez, Joe Walsh, Keb' Mo', Eartha Kitt and Melissa Manchester to name just a few.

Terry's TV credits include stints on "Scrubs", "The Tonight Show", "The Late Show", "The Byron Allen Show", "The Arsenio Hall Show", "Married With Children", and "Desperate Housewives". For the HBO documentary "If You're Not In The Obit, Eat Breakfast" he produced songs featuring Tony Bennett, Dick Van Dyke, and Alan Bergman with Dave Grusin, Additionally he co-produced Melissa Manchester's 20th album "You Gotta Love The Life", recruiting the likes of Joe Sample, Dionne Warwick, Al Jarreau, and Stevie Wonder who all eagerly agreed to be part of this project. 

On the heels of that, Terry released his 25 Year Retrospective "Silver Collection", with the first single "Welcome To Paradise" (featuring Terry with Dave Koz on alto sax) debuting at #1 Most Added on Billboard. By popular demand from all his UK fans, Terry also performed 3 successful nights at the renowned London jazz club Pizza Express and appeared as a guest artist for 3 consecutive years on the Dave Koz & Friends At Sea Cruise. Terry's latest 2023 album "Surface" has garnered three hit radio singles on the Billboard Most Added charts... "What Is Hip" (feat. Andy Snitzer), "Gratitude and Attitude" (feat. Bob James) and his current single "Hipster" (feat. Najee). Terry's 1988 debut recording, "Bimini", a contemporary jazz collection, received worldwide critical acclaim. His second album, "Say Yes", was extremely well received in large part due to his eclectic musical choices and an incredible variety of guest artists such as Joe Sample, Abraham Laboriel, John Robinson, Luis Conte and Michael McDonald. Moving into the pop world, Terry co-wrote and produced a high-energy dance record for the super group Baila, entitled "Shall We Dance?". Soon after, Terry produced and co-wrote the uniquely themed "Sleep Suite", a musical collaboration between the arts and sciences. "Buddha's Ear", his fifth release, was influenced by his world travels. In his usual style, he once again brings together an all-star band. His single, "Mandela" (co-written with Keb' Mo'), spent 5 months on Billboard's Top 20 and hit #1 on Smooth Jazz Top 20 and #4 on the Billboard charts. "Mandela" was named "#5 Song of 2012" by the Smooth Jazz Network. 

"A Joyful Noise", Terry's first Christmas album, reunites his long time friends Ricky Lawson, Abraham Laboriel, Wally Minko, and Lenny Castro to put his own unique spin on holiday classics. Special guests include Melissa Manchester, Melanie Taylor, Perla Batalla, Ellis Hall, Mindi Abair, Eric Marienthal, and John Robinson.

His lastest 2027 album "Rush" is a high energy Pop/R&B vocal album co-written and produced by Wollman. Terry has dedicated himself to music for more than 30 years. He has hosted the Podcast "Making It with Terry Wollman" - the show that explores the secrets, successes and strategies for making it in the music biz.
