Fourcade: That's A Blown Assignment, Not A Talent Problem | Ole Miss vs LSU Week

John Fourcade joins Locked On Ole Miss with LSU five days out, and he starts where the fanbase is loudest: the secondary. His read is not the one you have been hearing. "If a guy's not covering a guy he's supposed to cover, that's a blown assignment. That's not athletic ability." We start with what the 41-9 win over Charlotte was actually for. Fourcade's answer: get out clean. No injuries, fix the blown assignments, work the running game, and let Trinidad Chambliss go sit down after 23-of-26 for 225 yards and two touchdowns. Pete Golding said at Monday's podium that Ladarian Clardy had a strong game at free safety, and Fourcade explains why a free safety you can count on decides how the entire back end holds up.

Then LSU. Fourcade gives Ole Miss the edge at quarterback, at running back, on the offensive line and along the defensive front, and LSU is still laying the points. We get into why, what Lane Kiffin's return to Oxford does to the number, and his read on an LSU roster he says was built with "$40-something million." His bottom line on Saturday night: "The team with the least amount of turnovers or the least amount of mistakes will win that football game."
