Modern executive communication is drowning in corporate buzzwords and excessive presentation volume, diluting real organizational authority. Many leaders and communicators insist their vibrato, tenacity and clear articulation are the equivalent to command presence or enforceable authority. They are not. No more than a parent who insists on raising their voice to gain compliance, a leader who uses their voice to bully others into submission is likely to burn bridges instead. A leader who resonates compassionately with candor and understanding will win hearts before changing minds. I am convinced, genuine, authentic stories have a more profound impact and lasting influence than the domineering, demanding tone.
