I heard a fascinating question in a podcast recently but the ensuing discussion which followed the answer was even more intriguing.

“What if my dreams don’t fulfill me?”

In another conversation, two totally different people discussed “Do you feel like you are anointed to do what you do?” Again, the answer and discussion were both worthy of pondering and exploring.

Ironically, in both cases IMHO the parties engaged in the discussion had more questions than answers and likely left the audience deeper in the weeds. Not that I am eminently qualified, but I would like to take a stab at contributing to a conversation I was invited to participate in.

This is a healthy portion of the conversation with which I engage all of my 1:1 coaching clients as we craft their stories and meta narrative.

Anointing, appointing, calling, purpose, dreams and visions, ambitions and destiny are often used interchangeably but they are not. Also the very definitions seem to be up for grabs. Here’s my stab at it. I believe it is a conversation EVERYONE must have at some point in life.
