Secondarily it is a question of purpose. Many people pursue acclaim, fame, popularity or recognition because of the feelings of importance or significance which go along with it.
Many people are known for a mistake, a public slip up, a bad decision with reverberating impact. Often they can spin this expose into profit.
Truth is most of us are concerned about being watched in the wrong season of life and nearly concerned enough when it matters.
