Law Enforcement and LGBTQ+ People with Sheriff Tina Nieto and Sheriff Chris Clark

Sheriffs from both Monterey County and Santa Cruz County were the guests on the show.  Monterey County Sheriff Tina Nieto was elected as sheriff in 2022 and was the first Latina elected as a Sheriff in California and the first woman and openly LGBTQ+ person elected in Monterey County. She has over 33 years of experience in law enforcement.  Santa Cruz County Sheriff Chris Clark was appointed as interim sheriff in 2024 after the retirement of the previous sheriff. He served in the Sheriff’s office for 18 years before his appointment and after growing up in a military family, was drawn to Santa Cruz County because of its “inclusivity and diversity.”  Hear the stories of both Sheriff Nieto and Sheriff Clark and the policies that impact LGBTQ+ people across Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties.
