Food is art! In this episode, K heads to Hay Diner in Camp John Hay, Baguio for a cozy catch-up with executive chef Godfrey Laforteza (Fun Fact: chef Godfrey was K's castmate in her first musical play - The Little Mermaid) Over classic American diner dishes, including a few plates inspired by his family (shoutout to his wife and actress Carla as well as children Oreo and Katseye’s Sophia Laforteza!), they talk about his journey from theatre actor to chef, and everything that happened in between.K and Chef Godfrey first met in the original Trumpets production of The Little Mermaid, so this one feels like a full-circle reunion. He shares stories from life on and off stage, from witnessing 9/11 in New York to working as a caregiver, before eventually finding his place in the kitchen. They also get into what it’s like running Hay Diner day to day, from managing a team and developing recipes to sourcing ingredients from local farmers.
