Angel’s Egg is a bit of an oddity – it has hardly any dialogue, the characters are unnamed, there are weird groups of ghostly fishermen, and – of course – a girl carrying an egg.
Released in 1985, the film is an avante garde story set in a fantastical setting. And you know you’re in for a wild ride when even the creator says they don’t know what it’s about!
It’s a piece of anime cinema that predates some of the biggest films of the era, and with the 4K remaster out in the wild, you might be tempted to check it out.
But be warned – it’s an odd experience, especially in todays fast paced and attention grabbing world of entertainment!
