Japan earthquake, ICC sentences Darfur Janjaweed militia leader and Ukraine negotiations

The International Criminal Court has sentenced a leader of the Janjaweed militia to 20 years in prison for war crimes committed in Darfur, the first such conviction for atrocities in that region. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts around the war in Ukraine are inching forward.
