On the eve of the release of his first e-book "Whistle Ready," TFL's Steve Govett joins IL's Terry Foy to discuss his foray into longform writing.
Meant to serve as a guide for those (mostly parents) who volunteer — or are "voluntold" — to coach a youth sports team for the first time. A longtime NLL executive who started coaching as a teenager, Govett's goal is to put readers at ease, helping them understand that it's OK to not know what they're doing (and feel overwhelmed as a result), and that they should reframe their approach "skills and drills" to "being the CEO of a small organization."
