Spiritual warfare is a lifestyle.
Nature of our warfare.
-The battle is spiritual, not against flesh and blood.
Elements of spiritual warfare:
Crucify the flesh. Colossians 3:5
Take control of the mind. Romans 12:1-2; James 4:7
Total submission to God. Ephesians 6:10
Know your position in Christ. Ephesians 1-3
-We have been made to sit in high places.
Walk(lifestyle & conduct)in unity. Ephesians 5-6
Your attitude
Levels of spiritual warfare:
Personal level- dealing with/crucifying the flesh. Colossians 3:5
Ground level- dealing with the enemy. Mark 16:17-18; Acts 8:4-8
Occult level- dealing with/confronting the agents of satan.
Strategic level - dealing with territorial spirits. Needs cooperation, you are not supposed to fight alone. Daniel 10; Acts 19
2. Defensive weapons we have in the word of God.
-Our weapons are not carnal.
The belt of truth
Breastplate of righteousness
Shoes for the preparation of the gospel of truth
Shield of faith
Helmet of salvation
Sword of the spirit
3. The weapons of attack.
The word of God
Words of prophecy of your life
Prayer in the spirit. Ephesians 6:18
Praise. Psalm 8:2
Preaching. 2 Timothy 4:1-14; Isaiah 55:11
Testimony. Revelations 12:7-11;Acts 1:8
-Relationship with God, brethren and the Holy Spirit should be intact.
-The battle has already been won. We are fighting from a place of victory, and with the assurance of Christ backing us up. 1 John 4:6
