Lv: Ilze un Arvis bija divi draiski draugi internātskolā.
En: Ilze and Arvis were two mischievous friends at a boarding school.
Lv: Auksts ziemas vakars.
En: It was a cold winter evening.
Lv: Ārā sniga sniegs, bet iekšā siltums.
En: Outside, snow was falling, but inside there was warmth.
Lv: Radiatori sildīja viņu plašo, bet nedaudz haotisko kopmītni.
En: Radiators heated their spacious but somewhat chaotic dormitory.
Lv: Visapkārt bija dzirdami skolēnu smiekli un klusas čalas par slepeniem plāniem.
En: All around, the laughter of students and quiet whispers about secret plans could be heard.

En: When the batter looked smooth enough, they carefully poured it into the small electric oven, which Ilze had cunningly snuck out of the kitchen before dinner time.
