Ru: В начале января, когда праздничные огни ещё мерцают на улицах, Николай спешит по заснеженной дороге к полицейскому участку.
En: At the beginning of January, when the holiday lights are still twinkling on the streets, Nikolay hurries down the snowy road to the police station.
Ru: В его школе, где он преподаёт математику, произошла кража.
En: At his school, where he teaches mathematics, a theft has occurred.
Ru: Исчезли учебные материалы, а для учеников это катастрофа.
En: Educational materials have disappeared, and for the students, this is a catastrophe.
Ru: У полицейского участка многолюдно.
En: The police station is crowded.
Ru: Праздники оставили свой след — всё вокруг кажется медленным и запутанным.
En: The holidays have left their mark — everything around seems slow and confusing.
Ru: Вокруг бегают люди, шаркающие ногами по полу, кто-то спорит, кто-то записывается в очередь.
En: People are rushing around, shuffling their feet on the floor, some are arguing, others are signing up in line.
