Ep 1248 | The NFL Put on 'The Shield.' Refs and Stars Played Their Roles

Sunday felt like the NFL relaunched "The Shield" on FX. Not the badge. The show about Vic Mackey. Twelve of 14 games finished inside one possession. Deshaun Watson stole the Dawg Pound. Lamar Jackson broke Dallas in Rio. Sean Payton and Bo Nix sentenced the Rams, the best team money can buy. Then the flags stacked. Ten games had 16 or more. The refs were the showrunners. We loved the finishes. We hated the mechanism. Great television. Not great football. We also get into Deion Sanders' collapse at Baylor, the Dante Moore hit dividing sports media, and the feud between Caitlin Clark and Stephanie White over the Las Vegas Aces embarrassing the Indiana Fever. That is the rest of the hour.
