The Book of Judith is an apocryphal text found in some versions of the Christian Old Testament and included in the Septuagint (the Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible). It tells the story of a courageous Israelite widow named Judith who saves her people from destruction by slaying the enemy general Holofernes.
